Create a key while signed in on the Developers page. The secret starts with seneca_sk_ and is shown once. Send it on every call except the OpenAPI document:
A browser session token is not a Seneca API key. A key can read account and usage without an active subscription. Creating research uses that workspace’s subscription, credits, concurrency limit, and launch rules.
Keep the key in an environment variable or a secret manager. Call Seneca from a backend or agent runtime. Do not put the key in public browser JavaScript, and do not commit it.

What the key can do

Missing or non-bearer credentials return 401 authentication_required. An unknown, revoked, or expired key returns 401 invalid_api_key. GET /v1/openapi.json is the machine-readable contract and does not require a key: https://seneca-research.fly.dev/v1/openapi.json. The API reference is generated from that document.
