Credits are research capacity. They are not a cash refund. Credits are reserved when the run is accepted. credits_reserved is the panel price and stays at that number after the run finishes. credits_charged is null while the run is in progress. failure_code is research_failed for every failed run, whether or not the reserve was restored. Do not treat failure_code alone as a refund. Read credits_charged. A validation failure, a bad idempotency key, and a rejected panel do not reserve credits.

Account and usage

GET /v1/account returns plan, subscription_status, available_credits, entitled, and monthly_credit_grant. Reads work without an active subscription. Paid research requires entitled: true and enough available_credits. insufficient_credits is 402 and includes details.required and details.available. subscription_required is 402 when the workspace cannot launch paid research. GET /v1/usage lists recent workspace runs, newest first. Each item includes credits_reserved only. Read the run for credits_charged. Pass next_cursor back as cursor. limit is 1–100.

Limits

A workspace that is already at the in-progress limit receives 409 concurrency_limit_reached. Too many requests receive 429 rate_limit_exceeded.
